A BioBlitz is a race against time to record as many species as possible in an area within 24hours.
On a sunny weekend in June, wildlife experts and amateurs were joined by a host of volunteers, local school children, families and the Bromyard Beavers for our 24hour Bioblitz. Around 300 people, including 200 children from Brockhampton Academy and St Peter’s School joined in with wildflower walks, bug hunts, bat detecting, moth trapping and more over the course of 24 hours. Night-time explorers and intrepid campers were rewarded with sunshine and a final count of 304 species! Special discoveries included the bee orchid and dark green fritillary butterfly.
